Kurz zusammengefasst
Das Fredl wird vollständig durch das FKTT-Portal abgelöst. Die bisher im Fredl vorhandenen Funktionen werden ins Portal überführt. Auch die vorhandenen Daten werden migriert, so dass niemand seine Daten neu erfassen muss.
Das FKTT-Portal ist seit 2012 in Betrieb und bildet bereits heute die zentrale Grundlage für viele Inhalte und Funktionen. Das Fredl ist dagegen eine vollständige Eigenentwicklung, die über viele Jahre gute Dienste geleistet hat, technisch inzwischen aber überholt und nur noch schwer sinnvoll erweiterbar ist.
Der Umzug ins Portal soll deshalb nicht nur das bisherige Fredl ersetzen, sondern auch die Grundlage für neue, bessere und komfortablere Funktionen schaffen.
Warum wird das Fredl abgelöst?
Das Fredl ist historisch als eigenständige Anwendung entstanden. Viele Funktionen, die für Treffen, Betriebsstellen, Module, Fahrzeuge und Planung wichtig sind, wurden dort über Jahre aufgebaut.
Technisch ist das Fredl inzwischen jedoch an einem Punkt angekommen, an dem Erweiterungen und Pflege immer schwieriger werden. Gleichzeitig gibt es mit dem FKTT-Portal bereits eine bestehende Plattform, die moderner, besser wartbar und besser erweiterbar ist.
Deshalb werden die Fredl-Funktionen schrittweise ins Portal überführt. Ziel ist eine gemeinsame Lösung statt mehrerer paralleler Systeme.
Was ist der grundsätzliche Plan?
Die Funktionen des Fredl werden vollständig in das FKTT-Portal integriert.
Dazu gehören insbesondere:
- die Übernahme der vorhandenen Fredl-Daten,
- die Verwaltung von Betriebsstellen, Modulen, Fahrzeugen und weiteren Daten im Portal,
- die Anmeldung und Planung von Treffen,
- bessere Such- und Filtermöglichkeiten,
- neue Komfortfunktionen, die im Fredl bisher nicht oder nur eingeschränkt möglich waren.
Der Zeitplan
Die Umstellung erfolgt vrsl am 27. und 28. August.
Am Abend des 27.8. wird das Fredl abgeschaltet. Dann wird ein vollständiger Export der Daten durchgeführt, so dass diese ins Portal importiert werden können. Dies erfolgt dann direkt im Anschluss. Wundert Euch nicht, wenn zwischendurch auch im Portal manche Dinge nicht funktionieren. Die finale Erfolgsmeldung erfolgt nach Abschluss in den bekannten Kanälen (hier, Forum, Whatsapp).
Im Rahmen der Umstellung werden auch Eure Benutzer-Logins hier im Portal geändert. Ihr nutzt dann das bekannte Kürzel aus dem Fredl. Das bestehende Portal-Passwort bleibt aber gleich. Wer sich daran nicht mehr erinnern kann, nutzt einfach die Passwort-vergessen-Funktion. Für die gesamte Umstellung der Logins wird es individuelle Mails mit entsprechenden Hinweisen geben.
Testen in der Sandbox
Die neuen Funktionen können bereits auf unserer Sandbox ausprobiert werden:

Dort sind aktuell bereits Modultreffen, Betriebsstellendatenblätter, Triebfahrzeuge, Wagen, Equipment und Module importiert.
Bitte beachtet: Die Sandbox ist eine Spielwiese. Das bedeutet, dass dort jederzeit Änderungen stattfinden können.
Anmeldung in der Sandbox
Für die Anmeldung in der Sandbox nutzt bitte euer bekanntes Fredl-Kürzel. Wer schon einen bestehenden Zugang im Portal hatte, nutzt das dort verwendete Passwort.
Damit soll der spätere Wechsel möglichst einfach bleiben: Die bekannte Kennung aus dem Fredl wird auch im Portal weiterverwendet.
Falls die Anmeldung nicht funktioniert, nutzt bitte zunächst die Passwort-zurücksetzen-Funktion oder meldet euch im Forum.
Was soll ich tun, wenn etwas nicht funktioniert?
Wenn euch Fehler auffallen, wenn Daten fehlen oder wenn etwas unverständlich ist, meldet das bitte im Forum.
Hilfreich sind möglichst konkrete Hinweise, zum Beispiel:
- Welche Seite oder Funktion war betroffen?
- Was habt ihr erwartet?
- Was ist stattdessen passiert?
- Welche Daten oder Einträge waren betroffen?
- Lässt sich der Fehler wiederholen?
Bitte denkt daran, dass sich das System noch in Entwicklung befindet. Rückmeldungen sind ausdrücklich erwünscht und helfen dabei, die Funktionen praxisnah weiterzuentwickeln.

Fredl is moving into the FKTT portal
Summary
Fredl will be completely replaced by the FKTT Portal. The functions currently available in Fredl will be transferred to the portal. The existing data will also be migrated, so nobody will have to enter their data again.
The FKTT Portal has been in operation since 2012 and already serves as the central platform for many types of content and functions. Fredl, by contrast, is a completely custom-developed application that has served us well for many years, but is now technically outdated and increasingly difficult to maintain and extend in a sensible way.
The migration to the portal is therefore intended not only to replace the existing Fredl system, but also to create the foundation for new, improved and more convenient features.
Why is Fredl being replaced?
Fredl was originally developed as a standalone application. Over the years, many functions important for meetings, operating locations, modules, vehicles and planning have been added to it.
From a technical perspective, however, Fredl has now reached a point where maintenance and further development are becoming increasingly difficult. At the same time, the FKTT Portal already provides an existing platform that is more modern, easier to maintain and easier to extend.
For this reason, the Fredl functions are being transferred to the portal step by step. The goal is to have one shared solution instead of several parallel systems.
What is the overall plan?
The plan is to completely replace Fredl with functions provided by the FKTT Portal.
This includes in particular:
- migrating the existing Fredl data,
- managing operating locations, modules, vehicles and other data in the portal,
- registration and planning for module meetings,
- improved search and filtering options,
- new convenience features that were previously unavailable or only available to a limited extent in Fredl.
Timeline
The migration is currently expected to take place on 27 and 28 August.
Fredl will be shut down on the evening of 27 August. A complete export of the data will then be carried out so that it can be imported into the portal. The import will take place immediately afterwards.
Please do not be surprised if some functions in the portal are temporarily unavailable during this process. Once the migration has been completed successfully, we will publish a final confirmation through the usual channels (here, the forum and WhatsApp).
As part of the migration, your user logins in the portal will also be changed. From then on, you will use your familiar Fredl user ID. Your existing portal password will remain unchanged.
If you no longer remember your password, simply use the password reset function. Everyone affected by the login changes will also receive an individual email with the relevant information.
Testing in the Sandbox
The new functions can already be tested in our sandbox:

Module meetings, operating location data sheets, locomotives and multiple units, wagons, equipment and modules have already been imported there.
Please note: The sandbox is a testing environment. This means that changes can be made there at any time.
Logging in to the Sandbox
To log in to the sandbox, please use your existing Fredl user ID. If you already had an account in the FKTT Portal, use the password you previously used there.
The aim is to make the eventual transition as easy as possible: your existing Fredl user ID will continue to be used in the portal.
If you are unable to log in, please first use the password reset function or report the issue in the forum.
What should I do if something does not work?
If you notice any errors, missing data or anything that is unclear, please report it in the forum.
The more specific the information, the more helpful it is. For example:
- Which page or function was affected?
- What did you expect to happen?
- What happened instead?
- Which data or entries were affected?
- Can the issue be reproduced?
Please keep in mind that the system is still under development. Feedback is explicitly welcome and helps us improve the functions based on real-world use.
What comes next?
We are currently preparing the final migration. In the meantime, you can continue testing the system and reporting any issues you find.
New functions and changes will continue to be presented in the forum. Please provide your feedback there directly.
